History

In the 1968 – 1969 academic year, 2 Dentistry Academies were established in accordance with Private Education Institution Law number 625. These were “Capital Dentistry Academy” and “Ankara Dentistry Academy”. The two private institutions were nationalized in accordance with law number 1472 in 1971 and were transferred to the authority of Ankara School of Financial and Commercial Sciences; later the corporate existence of Ankara Dentistry Academy was ended in accordance with the resolution number 2237 and was named “Faculty of Dentistry” on November 8 1978. On July 20 1982, with “The Delegated Legislation on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions number 41”, the faculty was transferred to the authority of the newly founded Gazi University and thus became Gazi University Faculty of Dentistry.
